The Indian High School (IHS) is the first expatriate educational institution to be established in Dubai, United Arab Emirates in 1961.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://ihsdxb.net/ihs/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1&Itemid=22 )〕 The land on which the School is located was granted to the School by the Late Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The school was established in 1961 with a view to providing education to children of Indian expats. The school is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Dubai, and is permanently affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi. The Junior School at Al Garhoud accommodates Pre-Primary classes (Girls and boys KG1–4). The Main School situated in Oud Metha, has Grades 5 to 12 (Girls) who commence in the morning shift (7:30am to 1:10pm), Grades 5 to 10 (Boys) who commence in the afternoon shift (9:00am to 3:10pm) and Grade 11 and 12 who commence in the evening shift (1:20pm to 6:50pm). The school has a fleet of 81 air-conditioned buses to transport the students and staff. It has opened another $27 million school under the name The Indian International School and is located in Silicon Oasis, Dubai and has Grades 1 through 12. The Oud Metha Metro Station on the Green Line is located near the main campus, and the GGICO Metro Station on the Red Line is located next to the Junior School campus. A government hospital and a church is located on the road opposite the main campus, while a private hospital is located behind the junior school.
